New towers for Docklands

TWO towers are the last piece of the Docklands planning puzzle in a $700 million project announced yesterday.

Planning Minister Justin Madden said the five-building project would become a gateway to the Docklands and create 7000 jobs when finished.

The tallest tower will rise 29 levels.

VicUrban refused to say how much it sold the land for.

The winning consortium is made up of ISPT, Cbus Property and EPC partners.

VicUrban director and former Labor fundraiser Garry Weaven declared a potential conflict of interest in the proposal and did not involve himself in the bidding process or the decision-making.

An earlier report in the Herald Sun indicated Mr Weaven had been shortlisted and declared a potential conflict of interest due to his involvement with ISPT.

In fact, VicUrban said yesterday, the declaration related to Cbus owning 12 per cent of Industry F
